She’s played every position on the field competitively, but ultimately won a full-ride scholarship to play D2 softball to pitch and play outfield at Lindenwood University where she hit .350. In college, Bethany was a 3 time All-America Scholar Athlete and graduated Summa Cum Laude with a 4.0 GPA. She then went on to law school at UW-Madison and graduated in the top 15% of her class. While at UW, she worked with the softball team, assisting with practices and analyzing film. She’s actively giving lessons to girls around Baraboo, and she has been running winter skills clinics in Baraboo for the past two years. She’s entering her first year as the Varsity Head Coach for Baraboo High School.
Miles Statz is a washed-up former baseball player who permanently injured his arm at 15 while pitching.
Before injuring his arm, Coach Statz played year-round competitive travel baseball at the highest level for 5 years, earning All-Tournament Team honors at the 2012 CABA World Series and was given All-Conference honors in the Badger North his Freshman year as a pitcher.
Coach Statz has practiced yoga and mindfulness for the 8 years since the injury and utilizes pliability and flexibility lessons from these practices to create a unique perspective on pitching and hitting mechanics.
Miles believes that learning how to take care of your body is a life skill, and it needs to be practiced, just like any other skill.
He focuses on film analysis to help sort out where the body is losing energy during the process of the swing and the pitch.
He is 24 years old and already has a combined 7 seasons of coaching experience in baseball as well as in tennis and downhill skiing.
Miles works mainly with high school-aged athletes who are dedicated to their craft and like having fun along the way.
Coach Statz is currently the pitching coach at Baraboo High School.
